The war in Iran and the troubles passing the Strait of Hormuz have caused oil prices in the United States to rise and Americans are feeling it at the pump. Despite the higher prices, there are still ways you can make the most of your money when filling up your car. Rich DeMuro, host of ‘Rich on Tech’ on WOR Sundays, spoke with Curtis Sliwa and Larry Mendte in the Morning about the best ways to get cheaper gas.
“There’s an app called Gas Buddy which will tell you where the cheapest gas is,” DeMuro told hosts Sliwa and Mendte. “Gas Buddy did some research; they analyzed a year’s worth of gas prices in all 50 states and they found the cheapest day to buy gas in most states is Sunday; the most expensive days are Wednesday through Friday.”
DeMuro believes the data backs up conventional thinking: “I think this makes a lot of sense because if you think about the news cycle and how the price of gas reacts to that; it seems like things sort of heat up by the end of the week.”
