Thousands of soccer fans flocked to the Meadowlands this past weekend to witness the first World Cup match in the New York metro area, where Morocco and Brazil ended in a 1-1 draw. New Jersey Transit officials reported a successful day, selling about half of their available tickets and efficiently managing transportation logistics.

NJ Transit provided shuttle buses to transport fans back to Secaucus Junction after the game, ensuring a smooth exit from the stadium. According to the NJ Transit website, this service is part of an expanded transportation plan to accommodate the influx of World Cup visitors.

The next match at the New York New Jersey Stadium will feature France against Senegal, scheduled for today at 3 p.m. Fans are encouraged to use public transportation, as NJ Transit will continue to offer special services for World Cup attendees. NJ Transit has advised travelers to plan their trips carefully, as certain bus routes will be detoured away from the East Rutherford area on match days.

The New York New Jersey Stadium Shuttle is also available, providing direct service from various transit hubs in New York and New Jersey. These services are exclusively for match ticket holders, ensuring a seamless experience for fans attending the games.
