The watch party outside Madison Square Garden is set to return today (Wednesday, June 10) during Game Four of the NBA Finals. This event will be held in Plaza 33 and will require tickets for entry, which MSG will control. Enhanced security measures will be in place, impacting parts of Midtown Manhattan.

Seventh Avenue will be closed to vehicles between West 29th and West 35th Streets, while Eighth Avenue will remain open unless officials decide otherwise. The same perimeter will apply to pedestrian traffic. Only individuals with game tickets, train tickets, or authorized reasons, such as visiting bars and restaurants, will be allowed entry.

According to AMNY, the decision to return the watch party to MSG follows its relocation to Bryant Park due to President Donald Trump’s attendance at Game 3. The previous event saw several arrests for disorderly conduct, prompting the city to increase security measures.

Mayor Zohran Mamdani emphasized the importance of maintaining a safe and joyful environment for fans. "We will not allow it to be disrupted by violence," he stated. MSG has announced that 1,000 tickets will be available for the watch party.

Despite the excitement surrounding the event, MSG Sports, led by CEO James Dolan, criticized the security measures, arguing they negatively impact local businesses and fan celebrations. The restrictions were initially implemented due to security concerns related to the President’s visit but have continued for Game 4.

Businesses within the security perimeter will remain open but with strict capacity limits. The NYPD will screen all individuals entering the secure area, ensuring only those with authorized access are admitted.
