Is George Santos Willing To Bet He Doesn't Go Back To Prison?

The Department of Justice is opening an insider trading investigation, exploring whether disgraced former New York Congressman George Santos manipulated the numbers on an online betting site to make money on bets whether he would make an appearance at President Trump’s State of the Union address. Activity on the Kalshi site suggested that 90% of the bettors felt that Santos would not be there, until he released a statement saying he couldn’t wait to be at the February 24th speech- and then he never showed up. The DOJ is suggesting that the con man placed a bet on the site that he would not show up, then released the statement saying he would be there to drive the odds in his favor for a bigger payout.

710 WOR’s Curtis Sliwa and Larry Mendte in the Morning program discussed the latest sad episode involving the pseudo-Congressman from Nassau County. Larry summed up why the act George Santos put on was so galling that it is unforgiveable: “He is the worst of the worst. He’s a liar- you know, when you talk to him, he seems so nice. I mean, he comes off, and I guess that’s what all grifters do, right, they have a personality, they have a way of talking to you that they suck you in, and then they take advantage of you... He fooled tens of thousands of people to be elected to Congress in Nassau County. That was what’s amazing; he’s one of the best con artists that ever lived, but now he’s probably going to go back to prison, and this time, I don’t think he’s ever going to get a pardon”

Curtis, meanwhile, recounted meeting Santos on two separate occasions- except Santos pretended the first meeting never happened: “He was originally with the Queens Village Republican Club, and I’m at one of their meetings, and he was there under a different name. This was coming out of the Tea Party, you know, the beginning of MAGA. He was introduced under a different name. Then he shows up at Vickie Paladino’s Whitestone Republican Club- same guy, totally different name. Now it’s George Santos. And I went up to him and said, hey buddy, that’s not the name you had when you over with the Queens Village Republican Club! He looks at me- ‘I don’t know what you’re talking about; I’m George Santos.’”
