The New York Knicks have made the NBA Finals for the first time since 1999 and they are looking to win their first championship since 1973. Fans of the team are extremely excited about the success they’ve seen, and maybe the most famous New Yorker, Donald Trump, is planning on attending Madison Square Garden to watch the Knicks during one of their NBA Finals games. Natalie Migliore, WOR Reporter, hit the streets to ask New Yorkers how they feel about the President attending MSG to see the team.
“I don’t think he should show up, I think he should stay away; it’s going to be a distraction from enjoying the game,” one person told Migliore. “We don’t like the guy already but I guess it’s kind of cool; he needs to stay safe though because people are going to go crazy when the Knicks win,” another person told Migliore.
One fan is just hoping for the Knicks to end New York City’s title drought among its main four men’s sports: “We’ve been waiting for a while so it would be nice with everything that’s going on in baseball it’s nice to see a winner.”
