The most recent major technological advancement in the human race is artificial intelligence, which is essentially a computer that can answer any question or complete a large number of tasks in a matter of seconds. The investments into this tech have been massive in the last few years, but as AI grows, the need for humans shrinks, which has left many concerned for the safety of their job moving forward. Greg Giangrande, career advice expert, spoke with Curtis Sliwa and Larry Mendte in the Morning about AI and those who are concerned about their careers because of AI.
“I understand why recent grads are nervous because they can’t escape the doom and gloom of AI taking their jobs…and the reality is that like every new technology, yes, it is disrupting the entry level jobs,” Giangrande told Mendte. “Some are going away entirely, many are changing, but some new ones are being created.”
Giangrande believes that it is too early to tell where companies will be moving in the future as AI becomes more common: “We’re still in the early days; it’s not all doom and gloom… many companies are in the early stages of trying to figure out how to re-engineer their operations and what jobs are going to look like.”
