The New York Knicks will host the Cleveland Cavaliers tonight at Madison Square Garden in Game 2 of the Eastern Conference Finals. The Knicks are looking to extend their lead after a thrilling comeback victory in Game 1, where they erased a 22-point deficit to win 115-104 in overtime.
In Game 1, Jalen Brunson led the Knicks with 38 points, including a crucial layup that sent the game into overtime. Brunson's performance was key in securing the victory, as he also contributed six assists, five rebounds, and three steals. Karl-Anthony Towns added a double-double with 13 points and 13 rebounds, while Mikal Bridges scored 18 points and grabbed five rebounds. On the Cavaliers' side, Donovan Mitchell led with 29 points, and Evan Mobley recorded 15 points and 14 rebounds.
The Knicks' comeback marked the second-largest fourth-quarter comeback in NBA playoff history since the 1996-97 season. Knicks head coach Mike Brown, who previously coached the Cavaliers, praised his team's resilience, saying, "We got some stops, kept fighting, kept believing."
