New Yorkers Ready For Knicks To Host Game 1 Of ECF

The New York Knicks spent years at the bottom of the NBA, becoming a laughing stock around the league but are now prepping to play in their second consecutive Eastern Conference Finals. Last year they lost to the Indiana Pacers, and this year they will be taking on the fourth-seed Cleveland Cavaliers who finished the regular season one game behind the Knicks. Natalie Migliore, WOR Reporter, spoke with Knicks fans on the street about how the fans feel about their basketball team.

“Oh we’re definitely ready for the Knicks game; I got Knicks in five,” one person told Migliore. “We’re going to the Finals… I think they can beat either OKC or the Spurs; when it happens I’m going to be ecstatic, you’ll probably see me crying,” another person told Migliore.

One person is excited about potentially healing some wounds that the fandom gave him years ago: “I’ve been a Knicks fan for a very long time, I’ve watched the ups and downs; the almost making it in ‘94 against the Houston Rockets, losing to the Spurs in ’99 and I would love for us to actually play the Spurs in the Finals this year that way I can get my [bet] back from that one.”
