The latest potential global pandemic is causing fear among some as the Hantavirus has begun to spread from a cruise ship that was traveling the world. The list of those infected has slightly increased as those who were stricken have since left the ship and traveled elsewhere. Natalie Migliore, WOR Reporter, spoke with New Yorkers about their concerns and how they would have handled the individuals who were on the infected cruise ship.
“Keep them over there where it came from; don’t bring it over here, fix them over there and then bring them back,” one person told Migliore. “There’s nothing we can do about it, they got to get care otherwise it’s going to continue to spread,” another person told Migliore.
One person is hoping that the recent COVID-19 pandemic has prepared us for dealing with another potential virus outbreak: “After…the world has done it once, I would hope that we would be a little better prepared and there wouldn’t be that initial shock and shutdown of everything.”
