In Queens, New York, Councilman Phil Wong is set to meet with NYPD Commissioner Jessica Tisch to discuss a recent street takeover that disrupted the Middle Village neighborhood. On Saturday night (April 19), nearly 100 cars took over the intersection of 69th Street and Eliot Avenue, performing stunts and creating a "ring of fire," as reported by ABC7NY.

The incident began around 1:45 a.m. and quickly escalated as drivers performed dangerous maneuvers, including donuts, while spectators watched. Police arrived within a minute of receiving multiple 911 calls, but the chaos continued as three individuals jumped on an NYPD cruiser, cracking its windshield. The suspects fled the scene, and police are now seeking to identify eight individuals involved, according to Yahoo News.

Councilman Wong expressed his frustration, stating, "This kind of reckless behavior is an attack on our quality of life, and it cannot be tolerated." He plans to discuss preventative measures with Commissioner Tisch, including the potential use of drones and helicopters to monitor and deter future incidents.

Residents of the area have voiced their concerns about the safety risks posed by such gatherings. "This is craziness. This is where people live. This is an attack on our city," one resident told AOL.

The NYPD has released video footage of the event and is working to identify the vehicles involved, including a blue car, a silver BMW X3, and a white BMW. The investigation is ongoing, and authorities are urging anyone with information to contact Crime Stoppers.
