Donald Trump traded words with Pope Leo XIV through the media after the leader of the Catholic Church has made his thoughts about the war in Iran and Trump’s immigration policy since he got into office. The President also faced criticism for a post he made on Truth Social which was an AI generated image seemingly depicting Trump as Jesus Christ healing someone. Natalie Migliore, WOR Reporter, spoke with the people of NYC about their thoughts on the post and if they believe Trump’s excuse that he was portraying a doctor, and not Jesus.
“I don’t know if he’s that dumb; clearly, he knows what [that] image is symbolizing, and nobody looks at that and says oh I thought that was a doctor,” one person told Migliore. “I probably shouldn’t say things as I’m just going to mass… but there’s a lot of evil in the world and a lot of it seems to be in DC,” another person told Migliore.
One person told Migliore that taking the post down was a good start but it wasn’t enough: “He just needs to apologize… how we treat each other with kindness and respect, if you do something that upsets other people, you recognize it by apologizing and he should apologize.”
