As the weather gets warmer, many restaurants around New York City have begun to open their outdoor dining areas for the season. While the additions give extra business for the restaurant’s they also clog up roadways and remove parking for drivers in the city. Natalie Migliore, WOR Reporter, hit the streets of NYC to talk with people about how they feel about outdoor dining coming back.
“It’s good in the summertime, but wintertime I don’t think it’s necessary,” one person told Migliore. “Just sitting outside, with the air, the sounds of the city; that creates a really nice eating environment, and honestly, it’s nice to switch it up now and then,” another person told Migliore.
Migliore also asked people about how they feel about restrictions being eased on eating fish from the Hudson River: “It’s probably dirty, and probably not safe; It’s probably contaminated with something; you touch that river, you’re coming out with three arms.”
