The Treasury Department recently announced a plan to add Donald Trump’s signature to new U.S. paper currency as a way to honor the 250th anniversary of the United States’ independence. This move follows a number of other changes to add his name such as the Trump-Kennedy Center in Washington DC. Curtis Sliwa and Larry Mendte in the Morning talked about the change, and how it reflects on Donald Trump as a President.
“I think every President wants their name on something… I think every President wants to be remembered; most of them don’t wear it on their sleeve like Donald Trump does, but that’s him,” Larry Mendte said. “There’s good and bad to that; he’s the most accessible President ever, he’ll talk about anything… the bad part of that is, his ego is always on display too.”
Mendte believes these decisions don’t separate Trump from your typical politician: “Everybody who runs for office has an ego, some of them hide it, some of them aren’t very good at hiding it; Donald Trump wears his ego on his sleeve.”
