The legendary actor and filmmaker Robert Duvall passed away over the weekend at the age of 95, and leaves behind a long list of iconic films. Duvall won many awards over his career, including an Oscar for Best Actor in 1983. Joe Neumaier, WOR Movie Minute host, spoke with Mendte in the Morning about the legacy of the legendary Duvall and the impact he had on Hollywood.

“This one really hurts because Duvall was an actor’s actor,” Neumaier told host Larry Mendte. “I think if you talk to any directors, any filmmakers, any actors, they sort of look at him as the paragon; that’s the thing they want to achieve.”

Neumaier spoke about the performances Duvall put on in some of his most recognizable roles: “Whether it was The Godfather… or Apocalypse Now… or Network, all of these great amazing performances, in amazing films he was sort of average but also above and beyond so you wouldn’t expect all that intensity.”
