Valentine’s Day is tomorrow and if you still haven’t shopped for your significant other, now is the time to get that done. Flowers and chocolate are quintessential Valentines Day gifts, but which one is better to buy? Natalie Migliore, WOR Reporter, hit the streets of New York City to see what the people prefer to get from their partners on the romantic holiday.

“Flowers, because I feel like they last longer than chocolate… I would just eat chocolate but flowers they can be in my room, and I can see them all the time,” one person told Migliore. “I’m chocolate, always chocolate, it’s my guilty pleasure. You can’t eat flowers, chocolate tastes better,” another person told Migliore.

Migliore also spoke with a local florist who spoke about why the costs of flowers may be higher for your gift this year: “90% of the product that we sell is imported from out of the country, same goes with all of the supplies that we need to make the arrangements… the tariffs are really hurting the cost of the flowers that we need to import from out of the country.”
