The Winter Olympics kicked off last week in Milan, Italy marking the 25th time the games were held. The United States currently ranks sixth in medal count with five total, including two golds, with many more competitions to be held and many Americans expected to be in the running for top-three finishes. Natalie Migliore, WOR Reporter, hit the streets of New York City to see which sports the people have been most invested in during the first week of competition.

“Women’s hockey has been great and then I also watched speed skating yesterday,” one person told Migliore. “The U.S. duo of curling was great…they beat the Italians; I’m watching them in the finals today,” another said to Migliore.

One person believes the Olympic games are something that can help the country and the world right now: “I think sport often brings out the best in everyone and what we’re most proud of in every country… I think that’s the sentiment of the Olympics, it’s something for us all to cheer for.”
