Warner Wolf Sees Only One Option If The Giants Are Committed To Winning

For football fans, the past weekend meant wall-to-wall playoff games, as the Wild Card round kicked off the NFL post-season. The action on the field, however, was little consolation to New York Giants fans, who watched their team limp to a 4-13 record. 2025 marked the third straight year the Giants season cratered by October, but there are glimmers of hope, as their roster has some good young talent. All they need now, in the eyes of legendary sportscaster Warner Wolf, is a coach who can pull that talent together… and he has just the right coach in mind. Appearing on 710 WOR’s Mendte in the Morning program, Wolf says that, if their owners are serious about building a winning team, the Giants should not waste any time and simply have to go after John Harbaugh, the coach whom the Baltimore Ravens recently fired after 18 seasons.

“They can get him, if they want him,” Wolf told host Larry Mendte. “They gotta pay for him, sure- and by the way, some of that money is saved because the Ravens still owe him $34 million- but come on, you want to win and show the fans, hey, we’re tired of this stuff that we put out, and we have a pretty good shot with [quarterback] Jaxson Dart and the running back (Cam Skattebo), but gosh, you’ve got to have a coach.”

Wolf was direct and to-the-point about how Giants ownership should feel about hiring Harbaugh: “If they give us some phony stuff- ‘We couldn’t get him’ or ‘[General Manager Joe] Schoen doesn’t like him’, or whatever- you know, it’s the same old stuff. Hire the man; he can help the Giants move into the upper echelon. So, that’s the way I would look at it.”
