Frederick Green, a 20-year-old from the Bronx, faces charges of attempted murder, assault, and criminal possession of a weapon for the shooting of New York Jets player Kris Boyd. The incident occurred on November 16 in Midtown Manhattan, when Boyd was shot in the abdomen after a dispute outside a restaurant. Boyd, 29, was with teammates Irvin Charles and Jamien Sherwood at the time. He was hospitalized with a bullet lodged in his lung and has since undergone multiple surgeries.

Green was apprehended near the University of Buffalo North Campus on Monday after an extensive manhunt. According to ESPN, authorities tracked him using witness tips and surveillance, eventually locating him in Amherst, New York. Green allegedly altered his appearance and deactivated social media accounts to evade capture.

Boyd, who signed a one-year contract with the Jets in March, has not yet played this season due to a shoulder injury sustained in training camp. Despite his injuries, Boyd surprised his teammates with a visit to the Jets' facility, where he attended a special teams meeting. KLTV reports that Green is expected to appear in court soon. The firearm used in the shooting remains unrecovered, and Green's legal representation has not been confirmed.
