New York City police are still actively searching for a suspect involved in the shooting of New York Jets cornerback Kris Boyd. The incident occurred early Sunday morning outside the Sei Less restaurant in midtown Manhattan. Boyd, 29, was shot in the abdomen during a dispute and is currently in stable condition at Bellevue Hospital with a bullet lodged in his lung.

Police have released surveillance images and video of the suspect, who was last seen wearing a black cap, black sweatshirt, black pants, multi-colored sneakers, and carrying a black book bag. The suspect fled the scene in a BMW X8 SUV, according to ABC7NY. The motive for the shooting remains unclear, but detectives are investigating a possible attempted robbery of Boyd's necklace.

Boyd, in his first season with the Jets, has not played due to a shoulder injury sustained during training camp. He was signed as a free agent in March and was expected to be a key part of the special teams unit. Boyd's teammates and the Jets organization have expressed their support, with linebacker Jermaine Johnson asking for prayers on social media.

The Jets released a statement acknowledging the situation but provided no further details. Anyone with information about the suspect is urged to contact the NYPD's Crime Stoppers Hotline. The investigation is ongoing as authorities work to apprehend the shooter.
