Cynthia Erivo, the star of 'Wicked,' will open the 99th Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade on Thursday, November 27th, at 8:30 a.m. Erivo, a Tony, Emmy, and Grammy Award winner, will perform a show-stopping number just days after the release of 'Wicked: For Good' in theaters on Friday, November 21st. The parade will be broadcast on NBC and Peacock, with an encore telecast at 2 p.m. ET/PT.
In addition to Erivo, the parade will feature a star-studded lineup of performers, including Colbie Caillat, Ciara, Shaggy, and many more. The event will also showcase performances from Broadway's 'Buena Vista Social Club,' 'Just in Time,' and 'Ragtime,' as well as the iconic Radio City Rockettes celebrating their 100th anniversary.
The parade will include over 5,000 volunteers, 34 balloons, 28 floats, and 11 marching bands, culminating in a special appearance by Santa Claus. Hosted by Savannah Guthrie, Hoda Kotb, and Al Roker, the parade promises to be a memorable start to the holiday season. NBC Insider and Playbill provide additional details about the event.
