Zohran Mamdani was strong in his claims on the campaign trail that if he became mayor, he would have Israel Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu arrested if he ever entered New York City. Mamdani cited the international criminal court warrant for Netanyahu’s arrest as reason for the claim, and now that he is set to become mayor, the onus is on him to follow through. Jordana Miller, ABC News correspondent in Jerusalem, spoke with Mendte in the Morning about the claims and whether Mamdani even has that power.
Miller told host Larry Mendte, “The United States is not party to the international criminal court; they are not under any obligation to implement the rulings of the international criminal court.”
