Funeral arrangements have been announced for Patrick Brady, an 11-year veteran of the Fire Department of New York, who died while responding to a fire in Brooklyn. The wake for Brady will be held on Friday at Marine Park Funeral Home in Brooklyn, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and again from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. The funeral service is scheduled for Saturday at 11 a.m. at the Church of St. Francis de Sales in Belle Harbor, New York. The service will also be streamed on the FDNY website for those unable to attend in person.
Brady, aged 42, was working on the roof of a fire at 9407 Kings Highway in Brooklyn when he suffered a medical episode and went into cardiac arrest. Despite immediate treatment from fellow FDNY firefighters and EMS personnel, he was pronounced dead at Brookdale University Hospital Medical Center.
On Sunday morning, a bunting ceremony took place at Brady's firehouse in Brownsville to honor his life and service. Brady's family has deep ties to the FDNY, with his two brothers, Jimmy and Brian, also serving as firefighters, along with several cousins and uncles. He is survived by his wife, Cara, and lived in Far Rockaway, Queens.
According to ABC7NY, Brady's passing is a significant loss to the community and the FDNY family, who continue to honor his dedication and bravery.
