President Donald Trump has criticized the victory speech of New York City Mayor-elect Zohran Mamdani, calling it "very angry" and suggesting Mamdani should be nicer to him. Trump made these remarks during an interview on "Special Report with Bret Baier" on Wednesday. He expressed skepticism about Mamdani's democratic socialist ideas, stating that communism "has never worked" and doubting its success in New York City.

Mamdani, a democratic socialist, won the mayoral election, defeating Andrew Cuomo and Curtis Sliwa. In his speech, Mamdani highlighted his commitment to building a city hall that delivers on his campaign promises, representing a new era of government. He emphasized a movement that includes diverse communities, mentioning "Yemeni bodega owners" and "Uzbek nurses," which sparked some controversy among conservatives.

Trump, while expressing his desire for New York City to succeed, warned that Mamdani should be respectful of Washington, as Trump has to approve many things coming to the city. He described Mamdani's statement, "to get to any of us, you will have to get through all of us," as "very dangerous." Trump also indicated that Mamdani should reach out to him to ensure a successful collaboration.

The election results reflect a shift in political dynamics, with Mamdani's win marking a significant change in New York City's leadership. As Mamdani prepares to take office, the relationship between the new mayor and the federal government remains a point of interest.
