Early voting has concluded in New Jersey as Democrat Mikie Sherrill and Republican Jack Ciattarelli make their final efforts to win the governor's seat. More than 1.2 million residents have already cast their votes ahead of Election Day on Tuesday.
Sherrill, who campaigned in West New York on Sunday, received support from former President Barack Obama during a rally in Newark. She expressed optimism about the early voting turnout, particularly among male voters. "We have seen a great deal of enthusiasm across the state," Sherrill said, noting the positive impact of Obama's presence.
On the other side, Ciattarelli, accompanied by Congressman Mike Lawler, campaigned in Middletown. He criticized the policies of outgoing Governor Phil Murphy and positioned himself as a candidate for change. Ciattarelli emphasized the need for solutions rather than focusing on former President Donald Trump, whom he claims Democrats have been blaming for various issues.
President Donald Trump is participating in a tele rally for Ciattarelli today, adding to the high-profile support both candidates are receiving as they head into the final hours of the campaign. Polls will open at 6:00 a.m. on Election Day, and the race remains closely contested.
