New York State motorists are being cautioned about the dangers of drowsy driving now that Daylight Saving Time has ended. Despite gaining an extra hour, changes in sleep patterns can make drivers feel drowsy. New York State officials warn that drowsiness and fatigue contribute to thousands of accidents annually. In 2024, over 4,700 accidents in New York were linked to these factors. This year, more than 1,900 crashes have already cited fatigue or drowsy driving as a cause. Drivers are therefore urged to remain vigilant and ensure they are well-rested before hitting the road.
