New York City voters will face six important ballot questions on Election Day. These proposals include significant changes to local elections and affordable housing measures. One proposal asks voters if they want to align local election dates with presidential election years, potentially increasing voter turnout.

Another key question involves fast-tracking affordable housing projects. This proposal aims to expedite zone-changing measures to boost affordable housing construction in the city. Additionally, there are two more questions related to affordable housing, including creating a faster review process for certain land use projects and establishing an Affordable Housing Appeals Board. This board, comprising the local Borough President, Speaker of the City Council, and Mayor, could overturn City Council decisions on housing projects with a two-to-one vote.

The only statewide question on the ballot asks voters if they want to allow the expansion of ski trails in the Olympic Sports Complex located in Essex County, New York. This proposal would also require adding 2,500 acres of protected forest land to Adirondack Park.

These ballot questions, which were reviewed by the 2025 Charter Revision Commission, are designed to address pressing issues in New York City and the state.
