Democratic Assemblyman Zohran Mamdani continues to lead the New York City mayoral race, holding a 16-point advantage over former Governor Andrew Cuomo. According to a recent Marist Poll, Mamdani has 48 percent of the likely vote, compared to Cuomo's 32 percent. Republican candidate Curtis Sliwa trails with 16 percent.
Mamdani's lead is consistent with a Quinnipiac poll showing him at 43 percent and Cuomo at 33 percent. An Emerson poll released Thursday indicates an even larger lead for Mamdani, with a 25-point advantage.
Despite trailing in the polls, Cuomo remains optimistic, claiming he has the momentum as Election Day approaches. On Thursday, he campaigned across New York City, emphasizing his experience and addressing concerns about leadership.
Meanwhile, Mamdani continues to focus on issues like cost of living, which he believes affects all New Yorkers. He engaged with voters at a senior center and LaGuardia Airport, highlighting his commitment to addressing the needs of all residents.
Sliwa, despite his lower poll numbers, remains active on the campaign trail, making appearances and interviews throughout the city. He criticized the financial backing Cuomo receives from former Mayor Mike Bloomberg, suggesting the funds could be better spent on social issues.
