As Election Day nears, the race to be the next Mayor of New York City is still a 3-headed monster with the two major party candidates Zohran Mamdani and Curtis Sliwa joined by independent Andrew Cuomo. While Mamdani holds his position atop the polls and Cuomo is seemingly making small gains on him, some believe Curtis Sliwa is the most important candidate to the fate of the race. JC Polanco, political analyst and assistant professor at the University of Mount Saint Vincent, spoke with Mendte in the Morning about the race and the position that Sliwa holds.
“Curtis Sliwa could look at his voters and say listen I gave it my all but its become abundantly clear [I won’t win],” Polanco told host Larry Mendte. “Let’s just do this and hold our nose and he could change the course of history.”
Polanco believes that Curtis is holding the fate of the City in his hands: “He is right now the most powerful man in New York City until the election; he knows it.”
