Jersey City has been named one of the top cities in the United States to celebrate Halloween, according to a new study by WalletHub. The city ranks second, just behind New York, in the list of best places for Halloween festivities. The study evaluated 100 cities based on 20 metrics, including trick-or-treater friendliness, Halloween fun, and weather conditions.

Jersey City's high ranking is attributed to its dense population and excellent walkability, making it ideal for trick-or-treating. The city also boasts the 15th-lowest violent crime rate and the fifth-lowest property crime rate in the country, ensuring a safe environment for Halloween activities. Additionally, Jersey City has a high number of movie theaters per capita, offering plenty of opportunities for residents to enjoy a spooky film.

WalletHub's analysis found that Americans are expected to spend about $13.1 billion on Halloween this year, with the average household spending around $114.45 on costumes, candy, and decorations.

According to WalletHub, New York City tops the list, offering numerous Halloween costume shops, candy stores, and haunted houses. Los Angeles follows Jersey City, with a high number of pumpkin patches and Halloween party supply stores.

The study highlights the importance of safety and fun in choosing the best cities for Halloween, with Jersey City excelling in both areas.

As noted by Yahoo Lifestyle, the combination of activities and safety makes Jersey City a standout destination for Halloween enthusiasts.
