The New York City mayoral race has been a roller coaster since the beginning with Zohran Mamdani coming out of nowhere to win the Democratic primary and incumbent Eric Adams dropping out last month. But despite the number of candidates and all the craziness, do voters actually like their options? Joe Borelli, former NYC Council minority leader, spoke with Mendte in the Morning about the candidates and his dissatisfaction with the choices.

“You have two bums, maybe three bums running,” Borelli told host Larry Mendte. “The majority of us are saying ‘Isn’t there someone else who can be Mayor?’”

Borelli isn’t sure who he’s voting yet but he knows who he isn’t voting for: “Unfortunately, we’re stuck between voting for Curtis Sliwa and Andrew Cuomo and in my humble opinion I’m going for whoever’s in second place.”
