The iconic Rockefeller Center ice skating rink in New York City has opened for the 2025-2026 season, welcoming both residents and tourists to enjoy this beloved winter tradition. The rink, which first opened in 1936, officially started its new season on Saturday. Skaters can enjoy sessions under the world-famous Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree, making it a must-visit holiday destination.
Admission prices range from $22 to $124, depending on the time of day and date, with skate rentals available for an additional $12. For frequent visitors, an unlimited skating pass is also offered. The rink is open daily from 9 a.m. to 11 p.m., and it typically attracts more than a quarter-million visitors each year.
The Rockefeller Center rink provides a variety of options for skaters, including general skate sessions, VIP experiences with access to a heated lounge, and private après-skate chalets. There are also special rates for groups and opportunities for private lessons and skate schools.
Despite its outdoor setting, the rink operates in most weather conditions, though sessions may be delayed or canceled due to extreme weather. For those planning a visit, tickets can be purchased online or at the rink's box office.
