A judge has recommended that Sean "Diddy" Combs serve his 50-month prison sentence in New York, despite the music mogul's request to be placed at FCI Fort Dix in New Jersey. Judge Arun Subramanian suggested that Combs should serve his time in a New York state facility that offers substance abuse programs, such as the Bureau of Prisons' Residential Drug Abuse Program, which Combs qualifies for, according to iHeartRadio.

Combs, 55, was sentenced to four years and two months in prison for two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution. He was acquitted of more serious charges of racketeering and sex trafficking. His legal team had advocated for him to serve his sentence at the low-security FCI Fort Dix, citing the facility's programs for addressing drug abuse and maximizing family visitation. People reported that Combs' attorney, Teny Geragos, emphasized the importance of these programs in a letter to the judge.

Ultimately, the Bureau of Prisons will make the final decision on where Combs will serve his sentence. Combs has already spent a year in jail and will receive credit for time served. He is also required to pay a $500,000 fine.
