The New York Giants won their first football game of the year on Sunday in an upset over the Los Angeles Chargers. Not only was it the first win of the season for the Giants but it was the first start in the NFL career of Jaxson Dart, the rookie quarterback the Giants drafted out of Ole Miss in the first round. Warner Wolf, legendary sportscaster, spoke with Mendte in the Morning about the young signal caller and what Giants fans should take away from his performance.

“Before you say Jaxson Dart is the next Eli Manning, or Phil Simms, or Y.A. Tittle the fact is he had only 111 yards passing,” Wolf told host Larry Mendte. “That is not gonna win many ballgames.”

Wolf believes the real star of the Giants victory was the unit on the other side of the ball: “The fact is the defense won the game, so hold off on Jaxson Dart.”
