One of the most important safety features in your car is the anti-lock brake system, which aids your car slowing down on wet roads. If you are savvy enough behind the wheel you can survive if the system is down but making sure your car is running optimally is the safest for yourself and others on the road. Ron Ananian, host of ‘The Car Doctor’ on the iHeartRadio app spoke with Mendte in the Morning about keeping your eye on the anti-lock brake system light.
“Certain generations know [how to pump their brakes],” Ananian told host Larry Mendte. “The younger generation of drivers, I don’t know if they’ve been taught that and I don’t know if they’re ready for it so it’s an important light to pay attention to.”
Ananian explained a situation where the system is most important: “If you’re used to driving with anti-lock brakes and all of a sudden that lights on… and you go into a skid condition, then you gotta start pumping your brakes in order to correct the situation if you know how to do that.”
