The numbers have just come out on the top-selling smartphones around the world for the first quarter of 2025 and industry giant Apple had a large presence. Apple’s newest model, the iPhone 16, performed very well with four of the five models breaking into the top ten with three versions in the top three spots. Rich DeMuro, host of ‘Rich on Tech’ on WOR Sundays, talked to Mendte in the Morning about Apple’s performance compared to the competition.

“They’re the top four spots and then they have five out of the top ten,” DeMuro told host Larry Mendte. “Samsung… they’ve got four out of the top ten but if you look at their phones only one is their premium handset.”

Despite performing well with their premium models, DeMuro believes Apple’s cheaper options are where to look: “I actually think Apple overperforms with their less expensive phones so if you got something like their $599 iPhone 16e that is an incredible device for the price tag.”
