The race to be the next Mayor of New York City has been heating up as the primaries near and Andrew Cuomo and Zohran Mamdani separate themselves from the pack on the Democratic side. Those two leading the way however has some Republicans unhappy and questioning the voters of the city. Vickie Paladino, New York City Council member, spoke with Mendte in the Morning about low voter turnout in the last two mayoral elections.
“When deBlasio ran in 2017 880,000 people, that’s it, that’s what came out to vote for the Mayor of the city of New York,” Paladino told host Larry Mendte. “When we ran in ‘21 we had 1.1 million people come out and vote out of 8 million; this is pathetic.”
Paladino emphasized the importance of showing up to the polls: “The people control the needle on the record, which way are you gonna go folks, when are you going to say I’ve had enough of you; when are you gonna stop listening to their lies?”
