In the 2021 New Jersey gubernatorial election, Jack Ciattarelli narrowly lost out to incumbent Phil Murphy by a margin of 51.2% to 48%. Phil Murphy is unable to run for a third consecutive term due to term limits and that has opened the field up for plenty of new candidates to make their run for Governor. Jack Ciattarelli, Republican candidate for Governor of New Jersey, spoke with Mendte in the Morning about why he is confident heading into the Republican primaries and the November election.
“This time around I’m not contending with a pandemic or a shelter in place order, I’m not running against an incumbent,” Ciattarelli told host Larry Mendte. “All those things point to an opportunity for a win here and that’s exactly what I plan on delivering.”
Ciattarelli talked about Donald Trump’s performance in New Jersey and why that might help him: “He’s doing exactly what he said he was going to do. He put a temporary halt on the wind farms off the Jersey shore…we don’t want that in New Jersey…and he also is beating up on New York Democrats over their congestion pricing plan.”
