Massive wildfires have been burning in and around Ocean County, New Jersey for the last two days and briefly shut down traffic both ways on the Garden State Parkway. But thanks to efforts from brave firefighters, there is only one commercial building that has been destroyed by the fires. Bob Nosti, owner of Liberty Door and Awning, spoke to Mendte in the Morning about the firefighters who helped contain the fires and the work they did to try and save his business.
“They’re incredible; this is a catastrophic event,” Nosti told host Larry Mendte. “Those guys put themselves in harms way for sure. We’re all grateful, I’m unlucky that’s all it is.”
Nosti talked about how the fire was able to reach his warehouse: “I understand that the fire was on the other side of the Garden State Parkway, and I didn’t think much of it; but it jumped the Parkway and just [made] a beeline right towards my building.”
