New York City Mayor Eric Adams traveled to Washington D.C. for a congressional hearing with three other Democratic Mayors over their leadership of sanctuary cities. Adams faced many questions from the House Oversight Committee and is losing support back home in NYC according to a new Quinnipiac poll. Craig McCarthy, City Hall Bureau Chief at the New York Post, spoke with Mendte in the Morning to talk about the tough time that Adams is having.
“The people that were calling on him to resign and were grilling him yesterday were not the house Republicans… but from house Democrats,” McCarthy told host Larry Mendte. “They laid into him pretty hard yesterday.”
McCarthy believes the reason for Adams dropping in the polls is probably obvious: “His boost with Donald Trump and his close relationship in the last few months likely had something to do with that.”
