Everyone knew that whoever was named the host of the 2025 Oscars would be in for a tough night having to tip toe around the political unrest in the country and the wildfires that have ravaged southern California. Conan O’Brien, however, was up to the task and managed to keep the show lighthearted and fun while also being respectful to the seriousness of the time. Joe Neumaier, film journalist and host of WOR Movie Minute, spoke with Mendte in the Morning to talk about the Oscars and how he felt Conan did as host.
“I thought Conan did a great job,” Neumaier told host Larry Mendte. “He was silly…and he had the right tone; he didn’t take it all too seriously which was the right way to go.”
Joe also shared an interesting fun fact about the surprise Best Picture winner ‘Anora’: “It is the only Best Picture winner in 97 years to have scenes in a strip club.
