Governor Kathy Hochul gave her State of the State address for 2025 and outlined her plans for New York in the new year. Hochul announced plans for tax cuts, tax refunds, and measures to make the New York City subways safer. WOR street reporter Natalie Migliore talked to Mendte in the Morning about what she heard from NYC citizens about Hochul's new plans.

“It’s not exactly realistic, there’s not enough cops for that,” One person told Migliore about the plan to have a cop stationed on every train overnight. “I think barriers would be helpful, but they come at a cost and that’s the real challenge,” another citizen said about the plan to install barricades on at least 100 station platforms.

One person Migliore spoke to believes that despite the new plans, Hochul may have done too much damage with previous policies: “I think the Democrats are losing the middle class.”
