Did The Democrats Go Too Far Left Too Fast?

The progressive movement in the Democratic party has been growing steadily over the last few decades and took one of its biggest jumps within the last 10 years in the form of bail reform laws. These laws were widely criticized as soon as they were announced and have come with many violent and unintended consequences. Former Nassau County executive Laura Curran spoke with the WOR Morning Show about the progressive laws and the reality of such a big jump towards the left.

“Its nice to be idealistic, but you also have to look at the facts,” Curran tells host Larry Mendte. “There are ways to reform bail without resulting in all of these kinds of crimes that we’re seeing.”

Curran believes the Democratic party needs to get back to basics to reconnect with voters: “I think its time to lead with common sense.”
