Ever since Kathy Hochul took over as Governor of New York following Andrew Cuomo’s resignation in 2021 she has been heavily criticized and despite winning her seat in 2022, it was the closest gubernatorial race in New York in nearly 30 years. Hochul’s push for a second full term may be over before it even starts however with the governor deciding to move forward with her congestion pricing plan despite many New Yorkers being opposed to the idea. Staten Island borough President Vito Fossella joined the WOR Morning Show to discuss how this plan is driving New Yorkers away.

“You’re giving them no incentive to try and stay and raise a family,” Fossella tells host Larry Mendte. “You’re giving them every reason to flee.”

Fossella believes that congestion pricing cannot be put in to effect: “It’s a bad idea, and it should be buried long and deep.”
