Is RFK Jr. What The Doctor Ordered For The Trump Administration?

Donald Trump’s second administration is taking shape, and there are a lot of unexpected names coming on board for his second term. FOX commentator Pete Hegseth has been tabbed for Secretary of Defense, South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem would be the next head of Homeland Security, and entrepreneur Elon Musk and one-time Trump challenger Vivek Ramaswamy are both slated to lead the newly minted Department of Government Efficiency. Is there a place in the Trump Administration for Robert F. Kennedy Jr.? Dr. Arthur Caplan is a professor of bioethics at NYU Langone Medical Center. He appeared on the WOR Morning Show to lay out the argument why RFK might be bad for the nation’s well-being.

“RFK is super-controversial,” Dr. Caplan opined for Larry Mendte. “It’s because he’s been a long-time opponent of all vaccines. He says he isn’t, but he is. It’s just clear that he just doesn’t trust the safety of vaccines, and I think that’s a mistake… He’s also somebody that doesn’t like fluoride in the water, and that’s an old battle, you know but it kind of got settled… and he’s even been bigger on food issues in ways that aren’t supported by evidence. He hates things like oils made from seeds, you know, like canola oil, and that’s been a big health improvement for Americans. [Basically] I don’t think he’s got a science base, it’s that simple. Letting him run wild is not going to be good for us.”

But if Kennedy is a “pass,” Dr. Caplan mentioned another celebrity in the Trump orbit who could be worth the risk. “People forget another important advisor on health that I think might get a role here is Dr. Oz. Remember, the Senate candidate from Pennsylvania, our old friend from TV? He’s got Trump’s ear, and he is a doctor, and he was a surgeon at Columbia, and he had some also controversial views, not as way out there as Kennedy. But, you know, if I was betting, I’d watch that. If I was laying bets, I’d say don’t rule out Dr. Oz getting a job.”
