Governor Hochul Remains Committed To Congestion Pricing

After hitting the brakes on congestion pricing earlier this year, Governor Kathy Hochul says a reworked version of the plan will be put in place.

She didn't offer a timeline or say how much the toll to travel south of 60th Street will be, but the governor said the MTA needs the money for improvements and upgrades.

"There is no turning our back on driving the MTA into the future. I am committed to that," Hochul said.

The MTA on Wednesday said it's budget gap will be hundreds of millions of dollars in the coming years without another form of revenue. Hochul said she's working with the legislature in determining how much the toll will be, admitting the original $15 proposal would be a burden for many drivers.
