Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Jordan Addison suffered an ankle injury during the team's Week 1 game against the New York Giants, which ruled him out for the remainder of the game, NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reported.

"#Vikings WR Jordan Addison (ankle) has now been ruled out," Rapoport wrote on his X account.

Addison's injury status was uncertain entering Sunday's game, having been carted off the field due to a previous ankle injury during a training camp practice last month. The former USC standout finished Sunday's game with three receptions for 35 yards with the Vikings leading the Giants, 21-6, at the time he was ruled out in the third quarter.

Addison was officially ruled active for Sunday's game on Friday (September 6), less than a month after head coach Kevin O'Connell initially told reporters that he suspected the second-year receiver avoided a more serious injury after being carted off the practice field in training camp last month.

"I think he's going to be OK," O'Connell said via Matthew Coller of Purple Insider on August 14.

Addison was selected by the Vikings at No. 23 overall in the 2023 NFL Draft and had a breakout rookie season, recording 70 receptions for 911 yards and 10 touchdowns.
