City Councilman Says Don’t Replace Fireworks With A Drone Show

Len Berman and Michael Riedel talked with Joe Borelli, Minority Leader of the New York City Council and Rep. of Staten Island, about environmentalists wanting to do away with the 4th of July fireworks and replace them with a drone show.

Borelli called the environmentalists from NYU "Kill Joys" because they are concerned about the temporary increase in air and water pollution from fireworks. "Of course, the pollution is temporarily worse because that happens when cordite booms go off, and you smell burnt gunpowder." Borelli is worried that this is just the kind of thing that transitions into we have to get rid of fireworks. The Macy's fireworks show gets broadcast across America, and people love it. Borelli finished with, "If you are against fireworks, you stink, and the NYU scientists who did the research can go scratch."
