Second Ave Subway Project Paused Because Of Congestion Pricing

Following Governor Kathy Hochul's decision to postpone the start of congestion pricing, the MTA is reportedly putting work on the Second Avenue Subway expansion on hold.

The MTA had been counting on $1 billion in revenue from the $15 toll to travel south of 60th Street. A construction official said it's currently working to figure out the implications of the governor's decision and how the agency's capital program will be impacted.

Federal funds are paying half of the cost to extend the Q line in Upper Manhattan.
