Following several hate crimes being carried out by suspects wearing a mask, Mayor Eric Adams says it's time for masks to be banned.
"I'm a strong supporter of the decision of stopping masks on our subway system, masks in protests, masks in other areas where it's not health related," Mayor Adams said.
In a video made public last week, a group of people wearing masks stormed a subway train in the city. It has Governor Kathy Hochul considering whether masks should be prohibited.
I believe the governor is in the right place and I strongly support it and I hope we get it done," Adams said.
