Mayor Adams: NYC Ready For The Heat

Mayor Eric Adams says his administration is prepared to deal with a brutally hot stretch of weather expected in New York City this week.

The first heat wave of the season is here and we are ready," Mayor Adams said.

Temperatures are expected to reach close to 90 degrees on Tuesday and it'll only get hotter as we move through the week, topping out in the upper 90's by Friday. Cooling centers will be open starting on Tuesday.

"We want to be clear, this is extremely hot for June and New Yorkers should not underestimate the heat," Adams said.
